We’ve all heard it, but we’ve all done it. “Comparison is the thief of joy.” As women, we are really bad about this. We are constantly comparing ourselves to other women, moms, entrepreneurs, bloggers, coaches, authors, etc. She’s way prettier than me. She seems like she has it all together. I wonder how many fans she has. She probably has more page views than I do. And on and on.
Not only do we have a tendency to compare ourselves to others, but we also tend to down play our own accomplishments, amazing abilities and magnificent gifts. Essentially, we are hating on ourselves. And not giving ourselves the credit we truly deserve.
Trust your dopeness!
You are amazing! You are ridiculously talented! You are dope!
And…
There is no one else like you on the planet which means you are incomparable.
“When you are your authentic self, your brand has no competition.” – Me
So next time you find yourself comparing yourself to all the other personal branding specialists out there (oh wait…that’s me), stop. And when you downplay the awesomeness that you are, stop. Don’t hate (on yourself). Instead, find some women to collaborate with. There are enough clients/readers/buyers for all of us and we can actually get further in our businesses if we work together. And remember that you have a special something to offer the world in a special way that no one else will ever be able to duplicate. Boom!
